I think as soon as we start to reason, the whole concept of god is screwed up with words. Words are vehicles not destinations! Every day we experience the presence of some thing, providing us with both esoteric and exoteric sensation and or awareness. We have the ability in both to push past the limitations of words. If we seek we will find! So what should we seek?

Most religions/philosophies have metaphysic roots! The collective asked who, what, where, when, and why? The search is metaphysics! The search is being! The search for further truth!

Metaphysic pursuit is in our pedigree! We ased what is the nature and cause?
Metaphysics is different from other sciences, in that it uses imperical knowledge and tha which will eventually become imperical knowledge!
Metaphysics is a marriage of philosophy/religion, and science especially quantum science!
All imperical science began as an attempt to uncover hidden aspects of life. To know God!
If we do not limit our concept of ___ with the word (God) we automatically grow. We stop limiting our self!
Our world out side is a mirror of what and how we feel and think!
Now that seems like a connection of consciousness, well it is! When we accept that connection we can then explore our universe from within our own consciousness (The kingdom is within)!
The metaphysics lab is within our expanding consciousness!

Well, I think it's in God, and God is outside of me. He's very real. I believe we reach, connect, experience others through God by his grace. Neither science nor metascience has come even close to God yet. They may not in thousands more years. I think I'm going to start writing that G-d like my Jewish friends who so revere the word they won't write it for fear it could be destroyed, injuring G-d. I like that.

God is more than a word, man but what a word. Supreme being, Creator that's impresive how would you like to have that on your resume.

The word may sound prettier in another language, but what it says in any language, is something else. The word may be confining or restrictive, but there is power the word that can direct our thoughts to a launching pad of expansive conciousness that other words can't. Call it prayer, what ever, we need it.

I also try to use the word God with respect for others, because there was a time when if a person talked of God. I would think to my self. oh! Your one of them and I would not hear anything they had to say good or bad. I like to think I have something to share and don't want to scare any one away.

The idea of using words or familiar tones to alter our conciousness has been around for a long time and it still is we wistle humm when we feel good and want to feel better we moan and groan when we feel bad and want to feel better the vibration of moaning actually alters our concousness and we feel less pain. We have the sound to concentrate on.

To me (and these are borrowed words, not originals of my own)...God is either everything, or nothing!

Like Magritte's painting, in French, "This is a pipe;" no, the answer is, this is a painting of a pipe... I think words are subjective and worthless without a signifier that we all agree on. Language is a contract for human communication of human ideas. Science is also the language of humanity. We use that language to describe what we can grasp about scientific mysteries... but the human spirit cannot be measured yet. While ancient mathematicians were holding out in Grecian caves and scribbling their a2 + b2 = c2 on the walls, Plato was teaching that the closest we can get to a language for truth can only be expressed through fiction, especially parables - because truth (aka GOD) cannot be achieved through language. He also claims that no human can move in the direction of truth, what I can only express in words of my understanding as pure love, unless they come to know their own philosophy. This philosophy, self, arrives with us at birth and waits to be uncovered.It is not under a rock, hidden in a tree, or expressed from the bias interpretation of someone else. Most humans, though, are destined to ignorance and the marred philosophies of others, and only a few will be driven to self-examination. Hence, his claim is "Know Yourself" and then you will know the truth within. And to, finally, return to my point that language is subjective while that nameless higher power is objective and exists without any of us. At least that is what I think today...who knows about tomorrow.



So while we are telling lies to find truth, all the truth we need to know came with us at birth.

I like Roadwarrior's post... and to add to this - check out/google "neti-neti" (teachings about the unspeakable, i.e. GOD, aka truth). I believe the higher power exists and that we are part of his/it's experience. One cannot light without having exprienced the dark first.

I do agree that we are born knowing everything and that the control dramas we are subjected to in our younger years causes us to lose that valuable connection to that information (aka GOD, or universal knowledge) - if we are lucky, we realize this, and can become teachable again and spend our time working on reconnecting. Practice, practice and practice. God is within us - we just need to read the map and follow the instructions to regain communication and enlightenment.
